Luke Stauffacher
FOUNDER & CEO - Luke holds a BBA in Finance along with an Economic Minor from the University of Minnesota Duluth and brings a family background in real estate development and operations to the firm. Under his leadership, Cascade has successfully executed a growing portfolio of hospitality and multifamily developments while maintaining in-house control of construction and property management. Cascade has developed and sold 1,543 multifamily & hospitality units throughout the Madison area and currently owns and operates 619 units in the market, with 677 units currently under construction.
Claudia Harkins
PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENT - Claudia oversees all aspects of the development process from acquisition and due diligence through design, construction, and project delivery. Prior to joining Cascade, Claudia was an Investment Analyst with the Teachers Retirement System of Texas in Austin, where she evaluated investment opportunities and conducted financial analysis across a diverse real estate portfolio. Claudia earned her BBA and M.S. in Real Estate from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and also completed a Certificate in Entrepreneurship.
With a real estate history that ties back three generations, Cascade Development was formed in 2016 on midwestern principals of a hands on, hard work approach to all aspects of our business. Although our company name is new, what we have been doing in the real estate world is not. One of our founders, John Stauffacher, cut his teeth in the family business helping his father build Exel Inns of America, a 35 property hotel chain founded in 1974. Fast forward to today, the lessons learned through a lifetime of development have shaped the way we do business. As a boutique firm that acts as a developer, contractor, and manager of its ground up properties, Cascade Development strives to provide great buildings staffed with quality employees that provide exceptional service.
